Neal's Story

Moderate TBI

Neal, diagnosed as ADHD, was exhibiting problem behavior at home and school. He also had a history of 2 severe head traumas from being dropped twice, at 2 and 5 months, both resulting in skull fractures, one temporal, and one frontal. Treatment rapidly produced positive behavior changes. A dose of 20 mg of Ritalin caused headaches, but going to school without the medication was not an option. Within 3 sessions teachers and parents reported increased attention and concentration spans, and more self-control. He required less supervision so his medication level was decreased.

Neal had 11 treatments between 10/18/00 and 12/28/01 with major improvements in impulsivity and attention. Even when the dose of Ritalin was reduced to 5 mg in January 2001, he was still showing good ability to pay attention. Neal had a total of 18 treatments between 10/18/00 and 4/13/01.
